Yesterday's PopQuizzical Daily! answer:
"Mama" Cass Elliot.
I agree, in the pantheon of having your life snuffed out, death by “ham sandwich” is how I would like to go out as well.  Ok,ham sandwich or trampled to death by an angry, rogue zebra.  Either way, that’s not how Mama went out.  Through autopsy, it was determined that heart failure was the cause of her death.  Now there was a ham sandwich on her bedside table when she was found.  It wasn’t that ham sandwich that killed her.  Now it may have been the 3,000 ham sandwiches before that, strangling her heart muscle, but it wasn’t that last one.  That last ham sandwich was cleared of all charges, and lived out the rest of it’s like in Boca Raton, Florida, under the assumed name of “I Don’t Even Know Anyone Named Mama Cass And I Wish You Would Stop Asking”.
