From a technical standpoint, apples float in water because they are less dense than the water they are in but that is helped because fresh apples are 25 percent air.  Now just think, if apples were 25 percent helium how much less they would cost.  And you would always be able to tell when someone just ate an apple, because they would sound like Mickey Mouse.
