Aristotle's 'Metaphysics'.
That Aristotle was a pretty smart guy for today’s times, and a genius when you consider that he lived in the 300s B.C.  The earliest known formal explorations of logic came from him and, unless I miss my guess, I think he invented pizza and also the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (although my research for those last two things came from a dream I had).
