Superstition has it that if you accept a gift of a knife or scissors and don’t return a gift of a coin, the relationship will be severed.  However, if you try to give me a knife that wasn’t made by Shun you’re dead to me anyway, you deadbeat.  And if it’s a Christmas gift, make sure it has a sheath because I don’t want you to cut a hole in my sweet holiday stocking.
