The Pacific Ocean.

Ah, the peaceful Pacific.  And you thought it just meant that large body of water next to the left coast.  Pacific is derived (like a lot of Romance language words) from Latin, namely from the base words pac and pax – meaning peace.  That’s different from the PAX I just got back from, however.

This PAX doesn’t look peaceful at all. Not. At. All.
