The Pittsburgh Alleghenies.

Ah, it was the rural life for Pittsburgh baseball in the beginning, being named for the nearby mountain range.  Pittsburgh took the name “Pirates” after they were accused of poaching a second baseman from another team.  A reporter wrote that they were “a bunch of pirates”, and the team used it as a nickname for a couple of years – then it stuck.  I tried the same thing, but “Snookie” just didn’t work for me.

Those Pittsburgh Pirates – they’ll steal anything for their team – including a unicorn. Bums.
