The Celts (not the Boston variety) originally had a harvest festival, that eventually became Halloween.  It’s a shame none of their other holiday festivals translated, because “wearing-a-dead-cat-fest” would have been hysterical.

“Wearing-A-Dead-Cat-Fest” went too far when Craig turned Fluffy into a chopper. I hate commercialization.
