The Romans.

The Romans had a goddess called Pamona that was the goddess of the fruitful abundance, and the harvest was near the Celts Samhain festival and the two became intertwined.  Pomona was the goddess of the orchard fruit, and as you might well think, she baked a mean apple pie (that might not be true, but I challenge Pamona to dispute it).
