Yesterday's PopQuizzical Daily! answer:
Nikola Tesla
Not only is the car company “Tesla” named after him, but also lunar craters and the best rock band ever.  Ever.  (Please know that I’m kidding about that ‘best rock band ever’ joke, but that there is still a hole in my heart that can only be filled by you.  Wait, that’s ‘Extreme’.  Crap.  Sorry Tesla.)

Yesterday's PopQuizzical Daily! answer:
Enterprise, the first Space Shuttle.
Talk about showing off, NASA.  Early reports were that the Space Shuttle was a big hit and it earned 3.2 metric tons of beads from flashing its control panels on Bourbon Street.  The Shuttle’s parents were mortified.

Yesterday's PopQuizzical Daily! answer:
Rice, reintroduced as “puffed rice”.
The puffed rice stand may not have said “Snap, Crackle and Pop” right on it, but that’s definitely how today’s kids (and some adults) will recognize it.  Imagine what the American diet would consist of if those puffed rice stand guys at the World’s Fair had marshmallow creme back then.  We would come out of the womb diabetic.

Yesterday's PopQuizzical Daily! answer:
White City.
Chicago had often been referred to as “Black City”, due to the soot covered buildings that lined the streets.  The fairgrounds, newly built with classical stylings, were 7 miles north of Chicago and pristinely white.

Yesterday's PopQuizzical Daily! answer:
Aunt Jemima.
Many food items were introduced at the 1893 World’s Fair:  what would become Cracker Jack, chile con carne, and every pancake’s favorite aunt.  It is unfortunate that the my favorite “uncle”, the Belgian waffle, didn’t meet my favorite aunt until later in both their lives.  However they still live happily together today in Boca Raton.

Yesterday's PopQuizzical Daily! answer:
The Iron Lady.
I find it interesting that Margaret Thatcher and the Eiffel Tower both have the same nickname.  And hairstylist.  I think Margaret Thatcher also has lights running through her hair that are synchronized to music, but a restraining order prevents me from testing that theory.

Yesterday's PopQuizzical Daily! answer:
The Monorail.
There was no finer way to travel and worry that the train car would fall off of the elevated rail than the Monorail.  This futuristically designed people mover can travel up to 45 miles per hour, which will get you from your starting point to your final destination in no time.  And if you’re afraid of heights, you and I both know what “final destination” I was referring to.  (Still very cool to ride, though.  So suck it up, already.)
